What to Know Before You Buy a Retired Limoges Box

  1. Do not wait. When a retired piece sells, we usually cannot get another.
  2. Check the bottom marks. Authentic pieces say "Limoges France" and often the maker, such as Artoria or Rochard.
  3. Look at every photo. Product photos show the actual design. Message us if you want a closer look.
  4. Keep the certificate. Every piece comes with a certificate of authenticity. Keep it with the box.

FAQ

What does retired mean for a Limoges box?

It means the workshop no longer makes that design. Pieces already made can still be bought until they run out.

Are retired Limoges boxes worth more?

It depends on the design and demand. Many collectors enjoy them because they are harder to find. We price ours to sell, not as investments.
